About NFR

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is the PRCA world championship — 10 consecutive nights at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus, just east of the South Strip. It is Las Vegas's biggest non-CES December hotel event: multi-night groups, family travel, and a citywide calendar that includes Cowboy Christmas at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Unlike CES or re:Invent, NFR is a nightly arena commute, not a convention-campus week. South Strip hotels (MGM Grand, New York-New York, Park MGM, Mandalay Bay) sit closest to UNLV and often run NFR Express shuttles. Mid-Strip works if the rest of the trip is Strip nightlife. North Strip and LVCC matter if Cowboy Christmas is half the day. Downtown is the value overflow. AWS re:Invent (November 30–December 4, 2026) overlaps the first NFR nights — early-December rooms are not a normal December shoulder.
